Baby Cusick is a....
I still am coming down from the high of the weekend after ceremoniously pulling the strings to our mystery box full of blue confetti. As soon as we found out we were pregnant, I had been not-so-patiently counting down the days we would find out the gender of our little babe. A couple of months ago, when we scheduled our ultrasound and subsequently our gender reveal party - I felt like the day would never come!...but sure enough it did, and I can't believe it has come and gone and now we can finally refer to our sweet little guy as "him" when we talk about him!
At the very beginning of the pregnancy I felt for certain that we would be having a girl. However, over the last few weeks, I started to lean more toward boy, but I think its probably because when people asked about my pregnancy experience, my cravings, etc. - so many people started telling me "oh its definitely a boy". (And its true, all the old wives tales told me boy - craving salty foods, great skin, aversion to coffee - so those old tales seem to be true in my case!) BUT, going into the party on Sunday, I decided to stay firmly on team girl because that was my original inclination and I wanted to go with my gut. Brandon on the other hand has always been team boy, from the very beginning. I know this was mostly because he really wanted a boy for our first, but I guess all that hoping and wishing worked out for him because
WE'RE HAVING A BOY!
We are so thrilled as both of us had talked about wanting a boy for our first. I grew up with a brother, lots of boy cousins, and ran around with the boys over recess playing basketball and football. Of course I would have been so happy with a little girl, but to start the family off with a baby boy is a dream come true for both of us.
We had so much fun celebrating with friends and family, and it couldn't have been a more perfect afternoon. It was a sunny 75 degree February day (unreal!) and everyone enjoyed the back patio with drinks and food before the big reveal. I am so thankful for everyone who made it out, it was so special for us and we will never forget it!
